Udana bowled a wide ball, which Tendulkar let go. Fans were up on their feet as Udana pitched the ball up and Tendulkar played the perfect driver between two fielders. On the very next ball, Udana pitched the ball on Tendulkar’s pads, and he hit it through the leg-side boundary for the second four in two balls.
Suranga Lakmal strikes twice to dent India’s batting
After scoring 12 runs in the opening over, Ambati Rayudu hit Suranga Lakmal for a boundary. In the very next ball, the former India batter mishit a shot that was caught by Sekkuge Prasanna as Rayudu was out for five runs. Lakmal then sent the Navi Mumbai crowd into complete silence when he bowled out Tendulkar for 10 runs.
Nuwan Pradeep was welcomed to the crease with two crisp boundaries by Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Stuart Binny then opened his arms to smash Chaturanga De Silva and Jeevan Mendis for sixes. Binny hit a total of five sixes to entertain the crowd that had come to watch the match and felt disappointed with the early fall of Tendulkar.
The second match of the tournament will be played at the same venue on Monday when Australia Masters take on West Indies Masters. The first round of matches will be played in Navi Mumbai before the tournament moves to Vadodara and Raipur for the next two rounds. The knockout phase will also be held in Raipur, with the finals to be played on 16th March.
