India captain Rohit Sharma attended a press conference on Tuesday ahead of India’s two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The riveting red ball series will kick off on Thursday (September 19) at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
When asked about Bangladesh's desire to defeat India, the veteran opener replied in his typical manner. Rohit's reaction was a mix of humour and confidence and the video of the same is doing the rounds on social media.

He said every team wants to beat India and referred to a similar statement by England during the five-match Test series earlier this year. He added that India will focus on their own game and not what their opponents think.
“Every team wants to beat India; they all enjoy that; lene do maje (let them enjoy). We have played a lot of cricket against a variety of teams. We will focus on our own game. We don’t strategize differently whether it is Bangladesh, Australia, or any other team. We will try and focus on our game,” Rohit said.
“When England came, they also spoke a lot in the press conferences, but we do not focus on that. We try to play good cricket and not think too much about opposition,” he added.

There is extra confidence in our team: Bangladesh captain
Rohit’s reaction came after Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto said that his team would try to win both matches against India. The Bangla Tigers’ confidence has been boosted after their recent historic win against Pakistan in Pakistan.
“This will be a challenging series for us but after having a good series against Pakistan, there is an extra confidence in our team as well as among all the people of the country,” Najmul told reporters in Bangladesh on Sunday.
“Every series is an opportunity and we will play to win both the matches. (We will focus on) the things that we need to do for the win…the process is important and we need to do our job properly,” the left-handed batter added.
