India skipper Rohit Sharma proved to be the biggest hype-man for Virat Kohli in the Champions Trophy 2025 game against Pakistan. The Indian skipper playfully urged Kohli to hit a six and complete his century last night while he was nearing his 82nd century. At that moment, India required just two runs to win the game, and Kohli was four runs away from scoring his 51st ODI century.
It was a heartwarming moment for the Indian fans cheering for Kohli from the dugout. The 36-year-old player did end up scoring a century by hitting a boundary to end the game. Overall, the contest was quite interesting but one-sided, as India won the game by six wickets with eight overs to spare.

This was Kohli's 82nd century across format, and he is just 18 centuries away from beating Sachin Tendulkar's record of 100 centuries. The whole world is waiting for Kohli to achieve the accolade because he has been terrific throughout his career. At the age of 36, the player runs faster than a young man in between the wickets which speaks volumes about his dedication towards the sport.
My job was to control the middle overs against the spinners: Virat Kohli
The entire world celebrated Virat Kohli's century, but he ended up praising Shreyas Iyer for helping him play his usual ODI game against Pakistan. Kohli's shots were just perfect and the way he ran in between the wickets throughout the game was just marvellous.
"To be honest, it feels good to be able to bat in that manner in an important game to seal qualification. Feels good to contribute in a game where we lost Rohit early, and had to put in the understanding of what we learnt in the last game. My job was to control the middle overs against the spinners without taking too many risks, towards the end Shreyas accelerated and I got a few boundaries as well. It allowed me to play my usual ODI game," said Virat Kohli at the presentation.
