Rohit Sharma-led Team India created history as they clinched the glorious title of the Champions Trophy 2025, beating New Zealand in the final by a margin of 4 wickets. The entire Dubai International Cricket Stadium turned into a blue ocean in celebration of India’s historic Champions Trophy win after a long wait of 12 years.
Meanwhile, what attracted the eyeballs of all the Indian cricket fans and stormed social media was the moment when the two Indian cricketing stalwarts and superheroes, Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma, were seen playing ‘Dandiya’ (a cultural dance of India’s Gujarat state) with the stumps after India won the game.
The video of this heartfelt moment involving two Indian cricketing legends, Rohit and Kohli, is also making rounds on social media as soon as a fan shared it on X (formerly Twitter).

Speaking of the action of the high-octane final between India and New Zealand, the Blackcaps batted first after winning the toss and posted a total of 251 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs courtesy of two crucial half-centuries, scored by Daryl Mitchell (63 runs) and Glenn Phillips (53 runs).
Besides these two, Rachin Ravindra and Glenn Phillips also played important knocks of 37 and 34 runs, respectively. Varun Chakravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav scalped 2 wickets each, alongside a wicket each claimed by Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja.
While chasing the target, India skipper Rohit Sharma played a match-winning knock of 76 runs off 83 balls, with seven fours and three sixes. Besides that, he also stitched a 105-run opening partnership with vice-captain and star batter Shubman Gill, who scored 31 runs off 50 balls, with a six.
Rohit Sharma also won the ‘Player of the Match' award for his brilliant knock; following Rohit and Gill, Shreyas Iyer also scored 48 runs, with two fours and two sixes, followed by Axar Patel’s 29 runs, with one four and a six. Later in the end, wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul scored an unbeaten 34 runs off 33 balls, with one four and a six, alongside Ravindra Jadeja’s unbeaten 9 runs off 6 balls, with one four.
On the back of these performances, India comfortably chased down the target in 49 overs, scoring 254 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and won the game by 4 wickets to clinch the illustrious Champions Trophy 2025 Final.
