After returning, the team's focus will be on the upcoming white-ball series against England. It will start on January 22, with the first T20I being played in Kolkata. England will be travelling to India to play a 5-match T20I and 3-match ODI series, right before the Champions Trophy 2025. This series will be more of a practice series for both teams ahead of the upcoming major ICC event.
England are a strong side, and India have played only red-ball cricket in the past two months. So, it will be a bit difficult for the players to adopt the mentality again. After this series, India will head to Abu Dhabi to play in the Champions Trophy 2025. The squad for the same will be released before January 12.

Jasprit Bumrah steals show with staggering performance against Australia
In the 5-match Test series against Australia, star India pacer Jasprit Bumrah was just phenomenal. The ace bowler of India was nothing short of a miracle for the team as he claimed 32 wickets in nine innings and was awarded the Player of the Series trophy. The player received a lot of praise from all over the world but couldn't help India win the BGT series. Under his captaincy, India made a staggering start to the series, winning the game in Perth by 295 runs. However, things changed after that.
He became the captain in the fifth game as well after Rohit Sharma 'stood out' from the game due to bad form. But Bumrah's condition wasn't great, and the bowler couldn't bowl in the last innings of the series. Hence, India lost the last game as well. This series will still be etched in the memories of the Indians for Bumrah's accomplishments.
