Star India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is set to lead the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the upcoming Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). He was recently appointed as the skipper of the team ahead of the 18th edition of the tournament. The franchise roped in Pant for a whopping amount of INR 27 crores in the IPL 2025 mega-auction, which also marked him as the most expensive player in the history of the tournament.
Meanwhile, the newly appointed LSG skipper Rishabh Pant was seen displaying his singing talent off the field as he sang a viral Pakistani song ‘Afsanay’, originally sung by the young Pakistani rappers, Talha Anjum and Talhah Yunus.
The video of Rishabh Pant turning into a full-time ‘karaoke singer’ is also making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on their official Instagram handle. LSG mentor Zaheer Khan was also seen there with Rishabh Pant when the latter was singing the song. Zaheer also looked quite impressed with Pant’s talent.
“Part-time wicketkeeper-batter. Full-time karaoke singer,” wrote LSG in the captain of the video they shared.

Notably, Rishabh Pant will lead LSG in their campaign opener of IPL 2025 against his previous franchise Delhi Capitals. It will be the first time in the tournament’s history that Rishabh Pant will be playing against his home franchise Delhi Capitals (DC) since he made his IPL debut for them in the 2016 edition.
After making his IPL debut for DC in IPL 2016, Pant has played 111 matches in his IPL career (all for DC). In these matches, he has scored 3284 runs in 110 innings, including 17 unbeaten appearances and an average of 35.31. He has also scored a century and 18 half-centuries with the bat in his IPL career so far.
DC and LSG will be facing off each other in their campaign opener at the Dr Y.S Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam on Monday, March 24, at 7:30 PM (IST).
