India’s batting sensation, Rinku Singh marked his return to the team in fine style after missing the second and third T20I due to injury. The 27-year-old was sent out to bat ahead of Hardik Pandya as India lost three wickets just in the second over of the game to Saqib Mahmood. Rinku came out to bat at the fall of skipper Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket.

In the fifth ball of the sixth over, Saqib Mahmood bowled a short ball to the batter. Rinku Singh pulled the ball beyond the square-leg region for a six. What made the shot special was that the finish to the stroke looked like a helicopter shot which is MS Dhoni’s speciality.

Team India was asked to bat first after England won the toss. The visitors made two changes as Mark Wood and Jamie Smith made way for Saqib Mahmood and Jacob Bethell. The hosts included Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, and Rinku Singh on the side of Mohammed Shami, Dhruv Jurel, and Washington Sundar.

Jofra Archer bowled the first over of the match and saw 12 runs being scored. Abhishek Sharma hit a four and a six to end the over on a high. The second over of the game saw Saqib Mahmood dismiss Sanju Samson of his first ball of the over.

In the very next ball, Tilak Varma was dismissed for a golden duck as Jofra Archer took an easy catch at the third-man boundary. Suryakumar Yadav was then out for a duck to leave India reeling at 12/3 from two overs.
Abhishek Sharma continued his belligerent form as he smashed Mahmood for two boundaries in the fourth over.

Rinku Singh got into the run-scoring act as he took two successive boundaries off Brydon Carse in the fifth over. When the powerplay was done, India were placed at 47/3 with Rinku batting on 20 and Abhishek on 24.

Adil Rashid then produced the biggest moment of the game when he sent back Abhishek Sharma for 28 runs. The veteran bowler threw the ball up and invited Sharma to go for the slog sweep. India’s opening batter took the bait and saw the ball land in Jacob Bethell’s waiting hands.
