Indian bowlers were left frustrated due to some loose fielding by the fielders. The men in blue looked lackluster on the field as they let go of some extra runs and one dropped chance that could have got rid of Kusal Perera.

The incident in question happened during the third ball of the 14th over bowled by Hardik Pandya. Kusal Perera who was batting on 45 picked the ball off his hips as Rinku Singh made good ground and grabbed the ball.

There was more drama in store as the Indian youngster lost his footing and slipped and fell down. The momentum in the field saw Rinku Singh fall on the ground and drop the ball as it was spilled over the ropes.

Sri Lankan fans let out a huge cheer as the umpire signaled a six to bring the fifty for Kusal Perera. The veteran Sri Lankan star has been in good form in recent games and played a key role in giving India a tough fight in the previous match.

Indian bowlers make stunning comeback

After an impressive start yet again the Indian bowlers didn’t let the home team batters get off the hook. Kusal Mendis yet again fell early for just ten runs as he was dismissed by Arshdeep Singh.

Ravi Bishnoi then got the big wicket of Pathum Nissanka for 32 to give India their 2nd scalp. The Sri Lankan opener was out when he went to cut the ball and was hit on the pads. Ravi Bishnoi was the only bowler who went in appeal as the umpire gave it out. The batter went for the DRS but it was seen that the on-field umpire was right.

Kamindu Mendis was the next to go as Hardik Pandya dismissed him for 26 caught by Rinku Singh. The same combination struck again when they combined to dismiss Kusal Perera for 53 runs from 34 balls with six fours and 2 sixes.

Dasun Shanaka and Wanindu Hasaranga both fell to Ravi Bishnoi off successive balls to get India back into the game. Arshdeep Singh then got skipper Charith Asalanka in the 19th over for 14 to leave the home at 151/7 having lost their five wickets for 21 runs.
