After an embarrassing loss against New Zealand in their first game of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024, India are on their way to bouncing back as they have produced a brilliant bowling display in their 2nd match of the tournament and that too against their arch-rivals Pakistan.

Meanwhile, India’s wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, who was trolled for dropping a sitter against New Zealand, displayed a terrific wicketkeeping skill against Pakistan. Ghosh took a jaw-dropping one-handed catch to send Pakistan captain Fatima Sana back to the pavilion in the 14th over.

Watch the video here:

Asha Sobhana delivered a flighted delivery, Sana went for a slog-sweep shot but the ball took the outside edge of the bat. Richa Ghosh stretched her right hand out and grabbed the ball at the right time. She took it almost behind her.

India restrict Pakistan on just 105 runs

Talking about the match, India and Pakistan are playing the 7th match of the tournament at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first, however, the decision didn’t go well as they were restricted to just 105 runs after 20 overs.

It was a collective effort from the Indian bowlers as each bowler got a wicket. However, Arundhati Reddy was superior as she took 3 crucial wickets for the team. Shreyanka Patil was the most economical bowler for the team as she conceded only 12 runs and also claimed 2 wickets.

It would be interesting to see what will be Indian batters’ approach during the chase as the team have already lost a match and they can’t take any game lightly. They will try to finish the game as soon as possible to improve their net run-rate.
