The 7th match of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is being played between the arch-rivals India and Pakistan. Both teams are playing their 2nd match of the tournament. India lost their opener against New Zealand, on the other hand, Pakistan registered a win in their first game.

Meanwhile, a video is getting viral from the clash as India’s veteran all-rounder Deepti Sharma provides India its second breakthrough. A slow and tossed-up delivery that spun in from off, Pakistani batter Sidra Amin shuffled in to sweep but was early with her shot. She got a deflection off her glove, onto the body and then the ball went onto the leg stump. Sidra was quite upset after the dismissal as she wasn’t expecting it.

Brilliant bowling performance by India

Talking about the match, India were asked to field first after losing the toss. However, the decision turned bad for Pakistan as Indian bowlers destroyed their batting lineup. At the time of writing, Pakistan are batting on just 72 runs after 15 overs with the loss of 7 wickets. Pakistani skipper Fatima Sana was expecting to set a big target for the Indian side, but now even reaching the 100-run mark seems uncertain.

Interestingly, Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur revealed that she also wanted to bat first. However, it now seems fortunate that she lost the toss as they are now in a better position than she’d have ever thought. She also talked about one change during the toss as Pooja Vastrakar was rested due to an injury, getting replaced by S Sajana.

“We would have batted first as well, but we'll have to bowl well and restrict them. We have one change, Pooja is out with an injury, she's replaced by Sajana. We'll have to move forward with a positive approach, it's always how you bounce back and we've spoken about it. We will go out there and play some positive cricket.” Harmanpreet said.
