The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2024 is about to conclude, with Qualifier 2 being played on August 2. The real entertainment came in during the eliminator game, where Chepauk Super Gillies took on the Dindigul Dragons. There was a moment during the match when veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was seen losing his calm while sitting in the dugout.Β 

The Dindigul Dragons captain was seen making animated actions from the dugout towards the batters, including some swear words. In the 17th over, Ashwin was seen scolding the teammate Sharath Kumar who survived a dismissal.Β 

The Dragons have won the match and started for the Qualifier 2. It was a nail-biting thriller as they won the game in the 2nd last ball. Now, they'll be playing against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans on August 2. The Lyca Kovai Kings are already in the finals and are waiting for their opponents.Β

Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant knock of 57 runs off 35 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 162.86. He couldn't do much with the ball, so decided to jump in and contribute with the bat. He also mentioned that he took on the responsibility of the team which was important.Β 

"Pressure does these things (on the near collapse), we'll have to have a chat, but the important thing was we closed the game. It was an imperfect game, despite our shoddy bowling and fielding, we kept them down to a low score. As an international and IPL player, the responsibility was on me to do well (with the bat)," Ashwin added.
