Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) skipper Pat Cummins saw his side beat Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in a high-scoring encounter. It was SRH who won the game to knock LSG out of the race for IPL 2025 playoffs. Hyderabad will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru next in Lucknow on Friday before ending their season against Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday.
Pat Cummins was at his hilarious best as he was seen getting into the team bus carrying a cutout of Mitchell Marsh, who plays for LSG. Cummins could be heard saying “My Man” much to the amusement of his teammates. Marsh had scored a 39-ball 65 for LSG against SRH in the last game. The 33-year-old Australian star has scored 443 runs from 11 games so far this season.
With two games left in the season, SRH will look to win both their matches to the campaign on a high. So far Hyderabad have won four games and lost seven matches, while one encounter yielded no result due to rain. It has been a terrible season for SRH after their amazing run of form in the 2024 campaign where they reached the finals.
Pat Cummins expects to perform better next season
Speaking at the end of the game against LSG on Monday, SRH skipper Pat Cummins was hopeful that the team will come back harder next season. Cummins said, “I think, at times. When we were at our best, it doesn't look like they took too many risks, like tonight. They are classy and clean strikers and have so many options. They took their options and batted well. Probably could have done this a bit more throughout the season."
The Australian skipper also said, “I think a lot of confidence going into the next year. It is a lot of the same guys. We know when we come together, we are going to be a great side, as we showed tonight. Probably in the next game. It is about giving opportunity to the other guys."
Focus will also be on Travis Head, who missed the previous game against LSG due to COVID-19. The left-handed batter will want to get back into top form with the bat ahead of the WTC finals that are set to begin in a few weeks.
