On February 23, during India's Champions Trophy Group A match versus Pakistan in Dubai, a Pakistani supporter was seen on video quickly swapping sides in a humorous and joyful scene. The audience cheered and laughed when the fan, who had originally been wearing his team's jersey, was spotted secretly changing into an India jersey as Pakistan fought to remain in the game. 

With a six-wicket victory against Pakistan, India maintained their supremacy and created several amusing moments in the stands. One of the most notable of them was the fan's change of heart, which represented Pakistan's waning chances in the competition. The event went viral on social media, escalating the taunting rivalry that accompanies this crucial match.

Virat Kohli's significant century enabled India to make a resounding run to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semifinals. Anchoring India's chase, the legendary batter expertly guided his team to a decisive victory. India's bowling attack had earlier set the tone for victory by limiting Pakistan to a low score of 241 runs. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav were crucial, taking two wickets to keep Pakistan's batsmen from ever escaping and three crucial wickets to spearhead the attack. 

India responded clinically with the bat. Together with Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill, and Kohli formed a strong partnership that made sure Pakistan never managed to get back into the game. A disheartening result for a team co-hosting the event, Pakistan's season looks all but ended, despite their mathematical possibility of making it to the semi-finals.

Can Pakistan book spot in Semi-finals

To advance to the semifinals, Pakistan captained by Mohammad Rizwan will require a miracle. On Monday, Pakistan would be eliminated from the competition if New Zealand beats Bangladesh. If Bangladesh and India defeat New Zealand and Pakistan defeats Bangladesh, that is their only chance to advance. The Kiwis should lose badly enough to go below Pakistan in terms of run pace.
