Pakistan are almost out of the Champions Trophy 2025 after their defeat against New Zealand and India. Skipper Mohammad Rizwan was quite open about the entire elimination scenario and accepted that they are currently out of the tournament. Rizwan mentioned that as a captain, he doesn't want to depend on any other team's performance for their qualification.

"For now, we can say it’s over—that’s the truth. We have to see what Bangladesh do against New Zealand and how New Zealand perform against India, but it’s a long shot. Our fate is no longer in our hands. As a captain, I don’t like relying on these things. If we can win, we should do it on our own terms, without depending on others. I don’t care about other results. We accept that India and New Zealand beat us, and we didn’t play well," said Mohammad Rizwan at the presser.

The Indian players on the field performed brilliantly, winning the game by six wickets. Virat Kohli hit his 82nd century across format and made it very clear that he loves playing against Pakistan, especially during the ICC events. It was an important knock from the player, as the upcoming games will be super tough.

You can't say that we made a mistake by picking just one spinner: Mohammad Rizwan

Pakistan went with just one spinner in the game, Abrar Ahmed, which might have cost them the game. When asked about this, Rizwan took a stand on management's decision to go with just one spinner in the game. He spoke about India's playing XI and said that they didn't make any mistakes with the team selection.

"You can't say that we made a mistake by picking just one spinner. If you look at that Indian team also they have Kuldeep (Yadav) as the front-line spinner. (Ravindra) Jadeja and Axar Patel are all-rounders. We also have Salman Ali Agha and Khushdil Shah. They bowled very well in the past," added Rizwan.
