The 16th match of the Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024 between Toyam Hyderabad and Southern Super Stars was cut short due to rain, with Toyam Hyderabad claiming a thrilling victory by just 5 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method.
Toyam Hyderabad's victory was a nail-biter, thanks to a timely rain interruption. The turning point came when Hyderabad’s pacer Rikki Clarke decided to bowl spin as there was a chance of rain interrupting the match and guess what the decision turned out great. He removed Chaturanga de Silva on the last ball of the 14th over which also happened to be the last ball of the match as the downpour started after it.

Southern Super Stars faced some early struggles as they lost their four wickets on the score of just 44 runs. However, Pawan Negi and Jesal Karia steadied the ship. They batted responsibly and that too with a great acceleration. Karia's dismissal shifted momentum back to Hyderabad, and the rain ultimately sealed the win for them.
Earlier, Southern Super Stars' spinners, led by Jeevan Mendis, Jesal Kararia, and Pawan Negi, restricted Toyam Hyderabad to 144. After a solid start with a 69-run partnership between Chadwick Walton and George Worker, Jeevan Mendis took crucial wickets to shift momentum. The Southern bowlers, led by Mendis, Jesal Karia, and Pawan Negi, effectively stifled the scoring in the latter half, while Shaun Marsh and Rikki Clarke struggled to find their rhythm. A late push towards the end helped Hyderabad reach a modest total.
