WATCH: Martin Guptill demolishes commentary box glass pane during LLC 2024

Former New Zealand cricket star Martin Guptill smashes and breaks the window pane of the commentary box during the Legends League Cricket 2024 tournament.

Former New Zealand star Martin Guptill struck a terrific ton during the Legend League Cricket 2024 tournament. The former Kiwi star is playing for Southern Superstars as they beat Konark Suryas Odisha by 8 wickets. Guptill was not out on 131 as his side chased down the total with 4 overs to go. 

The former Kiwi star during his knock hit Daniel Christian straight down the ground for a huge six. The ball hit the glass pane of the commentary box after which the glass was broken. This left Guptill’s teammates in splits as the Kiwi star was showing no mercy to the opposition bowlers.

With this win Southern Superstars are top of the table with 10 points from 5 games. India Capitals are tied for points with Konark Surya Odisha with 4 points. Toyam Hyderabad are last in the table with 1 point from 3 games. 

Martin Guptill smashes blistering ton for Superstars 

It was Odisha who batted first and scored 192/9 from their 20 overs. Richard Levi was the best batter with 63 runs. His knock came off 21 balls with 9 fours and 4 huge sixes at a strike rate of 300. 

Yusuf Pathan regaled the fans with 33 off 22 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Skipper Irfan Pathan scored 10 while Dilshan Munaweera scored 16. Jesse Ryder and Vinay Kumar each for the Odisha team. Subodh Bhati was the best for the Superstars with 3/22 from his 3 overs.

Superstars skipper Sreevasts Goswami managed to hit 18 off 15 balls. His wicket ewas claimed by Ben Laughing. While Pravin Tambe dismissed Hamilton Masakadaza for 20 caught by Shahbaz Nadeem. Those were the only two wickets to fall as Pawan Negi with 14 not out gave good support to Guptill. 

The former Kiwi star also grabbed headlines for smashing 34 runs from one over during the game. Five sixes and one four came off the blade of Martin Guptill who unleashed carnage on the opposition bowlers. Navin Stewart the bowler hit for 34 runs bowled just 2 overs and gave away 63 runs.
