Gujarat Titans’ (GT) bowlers were put under the sword by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the IPL 2025 game on Sunday afternoon. Ayush Mhatre had given the visiting side a great start with the bat after MS Dhoni won the toss and chose to bat first. Titans' fielders who have been top class this season gave away three needless runs to anger pace bowler Mohammed Siraj.

The incident happened in the fifth ball of Siraj’s third over of the innings. Urvil Patel hit the ball towards the mid-off region and set off for a quick single. The ball was needlessly thrown towards the bowler’s end, and Sai Kishore, the back-up fielder, failed to collect the ball. The batters ran three runs, which annoyed Siraj to no end. The 31-year-old pacer could be seen hurling the ball towards the wicketkeeper in anger to show his frustration. 

CSK got off to a great start with the bat, scoring 68 runs for the loss of one wicket from their six overs. Ayush Mhatre scored a brisk 34 runs off just 17 balls, which included 28 runs from Arshad Khan’s first over of the game. Mhatre hit the pacer for three sixes and two fours in a frenetic start to the innings. Prasidh Krishna ended Mhatre’s innings in the fourth over, caught by Mohammed Siraj. 

Chennai Super Kings’ top-order finally show their might 

Urvi Patel began his innings with a spectacular flick shot for six off Siraj to continue the assault with the bat. Devon Conway and Urvil Patel added 63 runs for the second wicket in just 34 balls. Patel hit Sai Kishore for a huge six in the first ball of the 10th over and tried to repeat the shot in the next ball to be was caught by Shubman Gill. Patel was out after scoring 37 off just 19 balls with the help of four boundaries and two sixes. 

Shivam Dube came out and struck two huge sixes to score 17 runs from eight balls. Dube was dismissed by Shahrukh Khan in the third ball of the 13th over. Devon Conway, who had missed a few games this season, finally came good with a half-century. Kiwi batter was bowled by Rashid Khan for 52, which came off 35 balls with six boundaries and 2 sixes.
