Ace pacer Mohammed Shami's performance in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024 has sent a message to the Indian selectors. He went on to claim four wickets in the first innings and three wickets in the second. The excellent spell in both innings has spoken about the player's performance, fitness, and intentions of making a comeback in the Indian team. India could use a talented pacer like him in the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, as it's an important series.
While playing against Madhya Pradesh, Shami's spell in the second innings led Bengal to a thrilling victory. They won by a close margin of 11 runs, making the game interesting to watch till the very end. Shami delivered an unplayable inswinger to MP's batter Rajat Patidar to send his off-stump cartwheeling. Apart from him, Shahbaz Ahmed made an all-round performance, scoring 92 runs in the first innings and claiming four wickets in the second. He was given the Player of the Match award.

Can Mohammed Shami return to India team for BGT 2024?
Mohammed Shami has raised the hopes of every Indian who knows how important the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024 is for the Indian team. After a disappointing and humiliating series against New Zealand, India are ready to take on the mighty Australians. However, the only concern is whether Shami can return to the team since the squad is already declared.
As the BCCI have already declared the squad, the possibility of Shami joining the team without any valid reason isn't possible. If any player gets injured before or after the start of the series, BCCI can send Shami to Australia as a replacement. However, before that, the Board has no case to send the pace bowler, even though he has been wonderful in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.
