India's star pacer Mohammed Shami returns to Team India after a span of 14 months. Shami last donned the blue jersey in the ODI World Cup 2023, where India lost the finals against Australia. The star pacer will feature in the upcoming five-match T20I series against England, starting on January 22. Before the commencement of the series, the player was seen flying kites and talking about the times when he used to do it regularly.
A video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shows how happy the player looked with the kites in his hands. He tied the thread to the kite and took it to the terrace to give it a try. After several failed attempts, he succeeded in sending the kite into the air.

Shami's journey has been quite difficult. First, there were controversies with his ex-wife, and then he lost out on opportunities to play in the IPL and the national team due to injury. However, the player never lost faith in himself and made sure he recovered right in time. Shami had been playing domestic cricket for a while now, but the injury scare hasn't left his way yet. It will be exciting to see the player back in the 'Blue jersey.'

It’s a vintage-type feeling: Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav spoke about his memories at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, while playing in the IPL. He was a part of the KKR squad in 2014 and played for four years. Yadav had an amazing time with the team, hitting shots all over the ground and enjoying the game.
Speaking to BCCI, the Indian skipper said, "It’s a vintage-type feeling. It feels good when you come here. I still remember it was 2014 when I came to KKR for the first time. From then to now, obviously, I never thought that I would be leading India after 10–11 years."
"But today to stand at this ground and think that I’m going to lead the team as it’s also a historic stadium. It’s a great feeling and I’m having fun thinking about it. It has been a beautiful journey. It feels so good to think," Yadav further added.
