Paarl Royals defeat Durban Super Giants by five wickets

Talking about the match, Durban won the toss and elected to bat first. However, the decision didn’t turn out well for them as they were able to put only 142 runs on the scoreboard. Despite getting a good start from the openers, Durban’s middle-order batters weren’t able to contribute much. Even part-time spinner Joe Root was tremendous with the ball, conceding just 18 runs and picking up one wicket in four overs.

Chasing the target, the Royals didn’t get a great start, losing both their openers on just 25 runs. But Rubin Hermann and Mitchell Van Buuren steadied the ship with a responsible partnership. Hermann played a quick knock of 44 runs off just 22 balls which included four fours and three sixes. On the other hand. Buuren kept the one end safe till the 17th over and made sure the team won the match comfortably.
