Speaking of the action of the third IPL 2025 game between CSK and MI, the hosts won the toss and asked Mumbai Indians to bat first. Batting first, the visitors posted an ‘average’ total of 155 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs, owing to the three short but crucial knocks played by Tilak Varma, Deepak Chahar, and Skipper Suryakumar Yadav. The trio scored 31, 28, and 29 runs to help MI go past 150+ in total.

Debutant CSK spinner Noor Ahmed claimed a sensational four-wicket haul, scalping 4 wickets at just 18 runs in his four-over spell, alongside 3 wickets picked by Khaleel Ahmed at just 29 runs in his 4 overs. Besides these two, Nathan Ellis and Ravichandran Ashwin also bagged a wicket each.

While chasing the target, CSK fumbled a bit in the middle order after a strong second-wicket partnership between opener Rachin Ravindra and skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. However, the yellow outfits managed to cross the line in 19.1 overs, scoring 158 runs for the loss of 6 wickets and winning the game by 4 wickets.

Rachin scored 65 runs off just 45 balls, with two fours and four sixes followed by skipper Gaikwad’s 53 runs off just 26 balls, with six fours and three sixes. Later in the end, Ravindra Jadeja’s crucial 17 runs off 18 balls, helped CSK to chase down the total and go over the line.

Eventually, Gaikwad’s men won the match and started their IPL 2025 campaign on a winning note.
