He also held some amazing bowling world records in international cricket across different marquee international tournaments.

Here’s the video:

Lasith Malinga represented the Mumbai Indians throughout his entire IPL career; he played 122 games and scalped 170 wickets in 122 innings, including the best performance of ‘5 wickets at just 13 runs in a game’. He ended his IPL career as one of the leading wicket-takers for the Mumbai Indians in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Speaking of the current IPL 2025 campaign of the Mumbai Indians, they faced a 4-wicket defeat against the five-time champions, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their campaign opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, March 23. Now, Hardik Pandya and Co. will take on Gujarat Titans in their next clash of the current campaign.

Notably, MI didn’t have an expected campaign last year in IPL 2024, finishing in the bottom of the table, following a controversial captaincy switch of the team from Rohit Sharma to Hardik Pandya. The franchise also faced a backlash from a wide section of the Indian cricket fans, especially the fans of the former skipper and the batting stalwart Rohit Sharma.
