Oval Invinclibles' Mady Villiers took a one-handed blinder in The Hundred Women Tournament 2024, which surprised the batter and the crowd in the stadium. She was way above the ground when she took the catch, and it was extremely surprising how she managed to react to the ball and get hold of it in such a short time span.

To dismiss Bryony Smith of Trent Rockets in the eighth ball, Villiers threw in a solid effort that will be remembered for a while now. She's a terrific bowler and an even better fielder on the ground. Moreover, Ovals won the game which was the Cherry on the Top.

Moreover, the fans went crazy after Mady Villiers' catch and started comparing her to the South African great AB de Villiers. Chasing a target of 92 runs, Oval Invincibles won the game by five wickets with six balls to spare. It was a team effort as all the players scored well and took the team past the victory line. Marizanne Kapp won the Player of the Match award for her brilliant bowling effort, as she took three wickets and conceded just eight runs.

It’s just a position to me so it doesn’t really faze me too much: Steve Smith

In the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024, Steve Smith will get a tough job opening in the series. Now, it's a tough job because he'll be facing the world-class Indian bowlers who will be looking to tear apart the Australian batting lineup. Smith is looking quite enthusiastic for the new role and is also to face the challenges that will come his way.

Smith said about opening the batting, “Some challenging conditions with the new ball, in particular. So I would have liked to score a few more runs. That’s the game sometimes but I played pretty well in the second innings at the Gabba where we couldn’t get over the line, unfortunately. It’s just a position to me so it doesn’t really faze me too much.”
