Sanjiv Goenka and KL Rahul (Source: X)
The 57th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 was nothing short of drama. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) chased down a score of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs with 10 wickets to spare. It was the biggest defeat for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) who were clueless of the shots played by Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Both the batters were in terrific form and smashed the bowlers left, right and centre. Travis Head scored 89 runs off 30 balls, and Sharma scored 75 runs off 28 balls.
However, after a heartbreaking defeat, skipper KL Rahul was seen having a chat with LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka who was seen bashing the right-handed batter. It was pretty obvious from their animated expressions that he was venting out on Rahul who himself was looking quite depressed.

This incident has drawn much criticism toward the LSG owner as his interference on the field is not much appreciated by anyone. Taking to social media, the fans collectively opened up about the incident and how it might have impacted KL Rahul's mental health. Moreover, the owner's interference in the franchise cricket shouldn't be entertained considering the amount of stress the players go through daily.
LSG skipper KL Rahul is one of the strongest and the calmest players in Cricket. In the match against SRH, they lost the match by 10 wickets with 10 overs to spare which was nothing less than a heartbreak for the entire LSG team. In the presentation, KL Rahul was dejected as he didn't have anything to say about the match.
"Am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on TV. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six-hitting skills. They didn't give us a chance to know what the pitch played in the second innings. Was hard to stop them as they teed off from ball one," said KL Rahul at the post-match presentation.
