South Africa have asserted complete dominance in the first Test match against Bangladesh being played at Mirpur. After bowling out the hosts for 106, the hosts took a huge lead of 202 runs thanks to Kyle Verreynne. The South African wicketkeeper and batter scored 114 runs from 144 balls with the help of eight boundaries and 2 sixes.
At one stage, Bangladesh bowlers had the visitors reeling at 108/6. It was at this stage the Verreynne and Wiaan Mulder came together to add 119 runs for the 7th wicket. The stand came in 200 deliveries enabling the visiting side to take the lead in the game.

Taijul Islam was the best bower for the hosts with figures of 5/122 from 36 overs. Hasan Mahmud picked 3 wickets while Mehidy Hasan Miraz picked the other 2 wickets. On day one, Bangladesh were all out for 106 runs as Kagiso Rabada reached his 300th Test wicket.
South Africa asserts its dominance over Bangladesh
At the end of day, the Proteas were placed 140/6 with an overall lead of 34. Kyle Verreynne was batting on 18 while Wiaan Mulder was batting on 17. At the start of day two both the batters decided to exercise caution.
Once the threat was negated, the two batters started to score runs with relative ease. Kyle Verreynne got his fifty off mere 67 balls with the help of five boundaries. Wiaan Mulder on the other hand was more circumspect reaching his 50 off 105 balls.
That stand was broken when Mulder was caught by Shadman Islam off Hasan Mahmud for 54. His knock came off 112 balls with eight boundaries to his name. In the very next ball Keshav Maharaj was also out to Mahmud for a duck.
Kyle Verreynne was joined by veteran spinner Dane Piedt as the pair added 66 runs for the 9th wicket. The South African batter reached his ton off 134 balls as his teammates stood up and applauded his effort. Mehidy Hasan Miraz finally dismissed the Proteas wicketkeeper stumped by Litton Das for 114 to end the innings.
Bangladesh suffered yet another horror start to their innings for the second time in the game. Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada first dismissed Shadman Islam for 1 caught by Tony De Zorzi. At the time of writing, Bangladesh were placed at 53/2 from 14 overs with Mahmudul Hasan Joy on 23 and skipper Najmul Shanto on 21. The hosts are still trailing by over 140 runs and will need a huge score from one of ther top order batters to make South Africa bat again.
