Out of favoring the Indian batter Karun Nair has been in tremendous form during the Maharaja T20 tournament. The 32-year-old has been aiming to make his return to the national side on the back of some sturdy run-scoring in domestic cricket.

While facing Macneil Noronha in the 18th over, Karun Nair changed his grip and played a perfect reverse flick for a six. The shot from Karun Nair reminded fans of former RCB batting star AB De Villiers.

Karun Nair scored 31-ball 64 to guide his team to 6 wicket win in the game. With this win, Mysuru Warriors have qualified for the playoffs and are second in the table. Mangalore Dragons on the other hand are last in the table and have already been eliminated.

Karun Nair's blitz helps Mysuru Warriors coast to easy win

It was Karun Nair who had won the toss and asked Mangalore to bat first. Rohan Patil was the first batter out to Karthik after scoring 12 runs from 9 balls. Tushar Singh and Nikin Jose added 34 runs for the 2nd wicket before the latter was out for 14.

Veteran star Krishnappa Gowtham then dismissed Tushar Singh for 43. His knock came off 26 balls with 7 fours and a huge six. Macneil Noronha and Shreyas Gopal fell in quick succession to leave Mangalore reeling at 88/5.

Wicketkeeper Siddharth also joined forces with Lochan Gowda to add 61 runs for the 6th wicket in 34 balls. Siddharth was the best batter for Mangalore scoring 50 off 36 balls with 4 boundaries and 2 sixes.

Mysuru lost Ajit Karthik early for 14 but Karun Nair and SU Karthik then added 107 runs for the 2nd wicket. The stand came from 57 balls as the Mangalore bowlers were left clueless. Advith Shetty got the much-needed breakthrough when he castled SU Karthik for 69 off 52 balls.

Karun Nair was the next to fall when he was dismissed by Noronha for 64. Sumit Kumar was out for a two-ball duck as he was run out with the team still needing 20 runs from 13 balls. Manoj Bhandage and Jagadeesan Suchith then saw the team home without any more causalities for an easy win.
