Hubli Tigers won their match against Mangalore Dragons by 42 runs to become the first team to qualify for the playoff stages. During the game, Mangalore Dragons fast bowler Abhilash Shetty bowled a delivery that was similar to Pakistani pacer Shaheen Afridi.

Bowling from round the wicket, Abhilash Shetty got the ball to seam in with good speed. Taha was beaten for pace as he saw his off-stump get uprooted as the Mangalore players started to celebrate.

Despite the loss of early wickets, Hubli were able to post a huge score of 209 on the board. In reply, the Mangalore side were bowled out for a mere 167 as the Tigers secured their place in the playoffs.
