Delhi Capitals Women are clashing against the Mumbai Indians Women in the finals of the third edition of the Women's Premier League (IPL) 2025. On winning the toss, DC decided to bowl first, which turned out to be a wise decision at the start. MI lost two early wickets within the powerplay, making it difficult for the upcoming batters.

DC's Jemimah Rodrigues took a brilliant catch to dismiss Yastika Bhatia in the fifth over. The fielder dived to the front to take a low catch. Marizanne Kapp was the bowler who bowled a good delivery, which forced Bhatia to drive the ball on the off-side. Rodrigues made a solid effort to take the catch and keep the team in the game.

However, to everyone's surprise, captain Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt made a partnership of 89 runs and brought MI back into the game. These two batters displayed a brilliant display of courage on the field. Kaur scored 66 runs, while Sciver-Brunt scored 30 runs. DC's bowling didn't quite maintain their momentum, and thanks to that, MI ended up scoring 149 runs.

Can Delhi Capitals chase 150 runs to win the WPL 2025?

Just like RCB's men's team, the Delhi Capitals Women's team are going through the same thing in the WPL: trophy drought. Despite reaching the finals every time, somehow, they lack the enthusiasm that is required to win the game. In the first season, they lost to Mumbai Indians (MI) and in the second, they lost to RCB in the finals.

Moreover, in the ongoing finals, it seems like DC is losing the game, as they have lost half of their side in the first ten overs. As we write, DC requires 83 runs in 54 balls with just five wickets in hand. The title seems far away since there are no proper batters on the crease. It will be intriguing to know the result of the game and whether DC can lift their maiden title or not.
