Team India were celebrating the T20 World Cup win but one player in particular stole the show for his side. Suryakumar Yadav was the difference maker as he took the crucial catch of David Miller in the first ball of the final over of the game. David Miller went for a huge shot down the ground in an attempt to clear the ropes off Hardik Pandya.
Suryakumar Yadav showing great agility and awareness kept the ball in play and completed the catch. The batter waited for the third umpire to have a check but in the end, it was deemed that Suryakumar Yadav had taken a clean catch.
As is the tradition, the Indian team gave the medal to the best fielder in the dressing. Board of Control for Cricket in India put out a video on its Instagram handle where Jay Shah could be seen awarding the medal to Suryakumar Yadav. There was massive applause as the Indian batter went ahead to accept his award.
Indian field coach heaps praise on players
The Men in blue have been spot on in the field during the course of the T20 World Cup tournament. T Dilip the Indian fielding coach was seen giving a huge pep talk to each and every player at the end of the game inside the dressing room.
While speaking to the squad, T Dilip said “We talk about rising to the occasion in big games, today we didn't just rise, but conquered today. The intensity, the camaraderie, the resilience that we have shown not just today, but throughout the tournament, nothing short of extraordinary stuff”
“Like Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma keep saying, like a pack of wolves, we hunted every opportunity that came our way, leaving no stone unturned” said T Dilip as all the players were seen clapping and cheering.
Meanwhile, there are fresh videos which has cast doubts on the legality of the catch taken by Suryakumar Yadav. But the Indian fielding coach was more than happy with his ward over the effort.

Speaking about the catch, T Dilip said “He would have already taken 50 catches like that in the practice...The awareness of the rope is very important and having the confidence that he can throw it and catch it. It was a decision-making moment at that point of time”
