Pakistan's struggle against England in the Test series continues as they have lost two wickets on day 1 of the 2nd Test match at Multan Cricket Stadium, Multan. Abdullah Shafique and captain Shan Masood have gone back to the pavilion after falling into the trap of Jack Leach. The England bowler got the first breakthrough for the team as he dismissed Abdullah while he was batting on seven runs.

It was a brilliant delivery by Leach as the in-drifting ball landed around the middle and spun away to beat the outside edge before hitting off. The batter tried to block the ball but failed to do so, the ball went on to dismantle the stumps. The players jumped up with excitement after the fall of the wicket.

It was Pakistan's decision to bat first but looks like the pitch is different from the one which was in the first Test. Pakistan have scored 79 runs in 29 overs before the lunch break. Saim Ayub is looking set as he has scored 40 runs off 83 balls and debutant Kamran Ghulam is giving him company as he is batting on 29 runs off 56 balls.

Jack Leach - The saviour for England

The 2nd wicket of the innings was also taken by Leach. The spinner dismissed Pakistan skipper Shan Masood who scored a century in the previous game. His batting technique is quite solid and has the ability to hit the ball. Hence, his wicket was extremely important. Leach's ball was slow and Masood leaned forward to push it through mid-on but ended up hitting it square. Zak Crawley was waiting for this moment as he jumped forward to take the catch with both hands.

Pakistan still have eight wickets left and it will be interesting to see how they will bat throughout the innings. If they lose this match, the criticism towards the team will be strong as they had made some bold calls while declaring the squad for the last two games.
