WATCH: Ishan Kishan showcases his quick reflexes behind the wickets in County Championship

Somerset and Nottinghamshire are taking on each other in the 43rd match of the ongoing County Championship Division One, at the Cooper Associates County Ground in Taunton. Meanwhile, what caught the attention of the fans is the young Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan playing for Notts in the current edition.

Ishan also attracted the eyeballs for showcasing his instant and amazing reflexes behind the wickets on the first day of the game. The moment came on the third ball of the 62nd over of Somerset’s first innings. Liam Patterson-White bowled a delivery to Tom Abell at the leg stump, which took the leading edge of the bat. Eventually, Ishan Kishan made no mistake in completing a quick and brilliant catch to dismiss Abell at the individual score of 64 runs.

Batters hold ground for Somerset in the first innings

Speaking of the action of the game, the play is underway on the second day. Somerset have scored 289 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 100.4 overs. Tom Banton and skipper Craig Overton are there in the middle at the time of filling this. Banton has scored 65 runs off 148, with seven fours. On the other hand, Overton just got off the mark and has scored 1 run off 4 balls.

Earlier on the opening day of the game, wicketkeeper-batter James Row and star middle-order batter Tom Abell played brilliant half-century knocks, scoring 58 and 64 runs, respectively. Besides these two, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Archie Vaughan also scored 31 and 35 runs to help the team stabilise by the end of day 1.

Mohammad Abbas scalped 3 wickets at just 48 runs on day 1, alongside 2 wickets picked by Brett Hutton. Apart from these two, Liam Patterson-White and Lyndon James have also claimed a wicket each for Nottinghamshire in the first innings so far.
