The 15th game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) host Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Thursday. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was batting on 50 when he was dismissed by debutant Kamindu Mendis thanks to an amazing catch by Harshal Patel.

The incident in question happened in the fourth ball of the 13th over when Mendis invited the batter to play a big shot. Raghuvanshi took the bait and went for a inside out shot that he couldn't time well. Harshal Patel came running and took the catch just above the turf as the decision was sent to the TV umpires. It was seen that the fielder was in complete control of the ball while taking the catch.

KKR were put into bat after Pat Cummins won the toss and the home team posted a huge score on the board. Quinton De Kock and Sunil Narine fell early as Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami dealt early blows with the ball. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane led the attacked with the bat as he scored 38 runs from 27 balls with a four and four huge sixes.

The third wicket stand between Rahane and Raghuvanshi was worth 81 runs from just 51 balls. Zeeshan Ansari broke the stand when he had Rahane caught by Klaasen in the final ball of the 11th over. Kamindu Mendis showed his talents to bowl with both hands as he bowled right-handed to Venkatesh Iyer and left-handed to Raghuvanshi.

Venkatesh Iyer who had a lean start to the season finally justified his huge price tag. The 30-year-old was out after scoring 60 off just 29 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes. Iyer and Rinku Singh added 91 runs for the fifth wicket as the stand was raised in just 41 balls.

Sunrisers Hyderabad bowlers had a difficult day on the park as the home team went past 200 in the final over of the game. Rinku Singh was not out on 32 off 17 balls with four boundaries and a six. KKR ended up with 200 runs on the board from their allotted 20 overs.
