Sarfaraz Khan regaled the crowd at the Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru on Friday. The 27-year-old scored a memorable fifty during the 2nd innings of the opening Test match. Sarfaraz was once part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru player and made his debut in a dramatic style during the IPL 2015 season.
Ajaz Patel was bowling the 32nd over when Sarfaraz decided to go on the offensive. The Kiwi star bowled a low full toss which was slog-swept deep into the stands for a huge six. In the very next ball, Patel bowled yet another full toss which went into the exact same spot in the stand for an even bigger six.

With a single off Matt Henry in the final ball of the 36th over, the young batter reached his 4th Test fifty. In the first innings, Sarfaraz Khan was out for a duck when he played a bad shot. With Shubman Gill out injured, the right-handed batter showed the right intent to score a memorable half-century.
Virat Kohli scores his first Test fifty of the year
India finely started their second innings while trailing New Zealand by 356 runs. The first few overs were watchfully played by opening batters Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma. The two batters were scoring close to 4 runs per over by the time the teams went back to the hut for the tea break.
The rush of blood cost Jaiswal as he stepped down to hit Ajaz Patel for a six. The batter was beaten in the flight as he saw Tom Blundell complete the easiest of stumpings. The opening stand was worth 72 as Jaiswal scored 35 runs from 52 balls.
Rohit Sharma decided to open his shoulder and play a few shots to put pressure on the Kiwi bowlers. Indian skipper hit Matt Henry for 14 runs to reach yet another Test fifty. Ajaz Patel then had the wicket of India’s skipper as the ball rolled back to hit the stumps.
Virat Kohli who was dismissed for a duck in the 1st innings played aggressively. The former India skipper even hit a six to put the Kiwi bowlers on the back foot. Bengaluru came unglued as Kohli took a single to get to his fifty which was his 1st in 2024. At the time of writing, India was placed at 197/2 in 39 overs with Kohli on 51 and Sarfaraz on 57.
