WATCH: Eugene Levy’s reaction after being presented RR jersey by Rahul Dravid

Rajasthan Royals (RR) are gearing up for the resumption of the IPL 2025 season after its suspension due to India-Pakistan border tensions. Noted Canadian actor and comedy giant Eugene Levy was a surprise visitor and the 78-year-old was seen interacting with RR’s coach Rahul Dravid. The former Indian captain and coach presented Levy a special RR jersey, which left the veteran actor in complete awe.

Dravid was heard saying, “Now that you’re a Rajasthan Royals fan, we’ve got a special T-shirt for you.” The veteran actor was taken aback with joy and was seen getting overwhelmed. Dravid also said that he hoped the actor would wear the jersey with pride and watch the games. Levy was seen holding the jersey with Dravid as the short video was posted on Rajasthan Royals’ social media handle. 

Levy said “Oh yeah! Look at this; well, there it is. You know, I’m a Royals fan. They were my first cricket team, and they will always be my first cricket team.” Dravid and Levy then shook hands as the video ended with pleasantries being shared. This interaction has become a huge talking point on social media with many likes, shares, and comments being recorded. 

Rajasthan Royals looking to play for pride

It hasn’t been a great season for Rajasthan Royals, who have won just three games out of 12 to be placed ninth in the points table. Injury to Sanju Samson also played a key part in the Royals’ inability to make it to the playoffs. Samson began the season by playing as a pure batter post the finger injury he suffered in the home series against England. 

The 30-year-old then injured himself in the game against Delhi Capitals while trying to play a big shot. Another issue which plagued RR this season was their inability to finish off matches. In the game against Delhi Capitals, the Royals lost from a strong position as the game went to a super over after finishing all square. This was followed by losses to Lucknow and Kolkata by close margins during the course of the season. 

RR end their season with matches against Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings. Winning each game will help RR finish the season with five wins and take some positivity ahead of the new season. Meanwhile, there are reports that Shimron Hetmyer and Shane Bond may not return to India for the rest of the IPL 2025 season.
