Dwaine Pretorius emerged as the best finisher of the game in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 as he hit 16 runs in the last over to win the game. Surprisingly, he faced Pakistan's legendary bowler Mohammad Amir, who couldn't defend 16 runs in the last over. Amir was clueless while bowling to the batter as Pretorius hit a beautiful boundary on the last ball over the fielder's head to clinch the first victory for his team.

Pretorius hit three boundaries and one six in the last over against Amir and scripted a historic win against the Falcons. Moreover, the Guyana Amazon Warriors won the match against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons by three wickets thanks to solid batting by Shai Hope and Romario Shephard. However, the man of the moment was Pretorius, who pulled off this victory. In 10 balls, he scored 20 runs, including three boundaries and one six.

In the first innings, the Pakistan duo Fakhar Zaman (40) and Imad Wasim (40) tried their best to get the team to a good score, and they did. The Falcons scored 168 runs, which was a pretty decent score. However, their bowling was extremely poor, and hence, they couldn't defend the score put up on the board. The Warriors outplayed the Falcons in every department of the game, so they went on to clinch victory.

Any of our teammates can finish the job: Imran Tahir

Skipper Imran Tahir was quite happy with the team's performance in the 1st game against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, as Pretorius hit 16 runs in the last over. It was a terrific win for the Warriors as they started their campaign with a brilliant win. Moreover, Tahir also showed confidence in his team and the extremely talented players who can win more games in the upcoming matches.

"Was a great game. Everyone enjoyed. We showed our character. Any of our teammates can finish the job. I am happy and pleased. We know Romario can hit the ball. We have got Paul and have batting till number 9. Our number 9 came in and hit a six. Sheppy was unbelievable. Thanks to the Guyana fans. They are amazing," said Imran Tahir.
