The ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 is providing a lot of entertainment to the viewers. In the 2nd match of the league, Guyana Amazon Warriors' wicket-keeper batter Azam Khan was bamboozled by Shamar Springer's short ball, which led to his dismissal. Khan couldn't understand the ball and played a wrong shot and was hit hit-wicket. Springer was playing for the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons, who lost their second match in a row.

Moreover, he also got injured as the ball hit his neck, and discomfort was evident on his face. However, after scoring nine runs, the player gathered and returned to the pavilion. It wasn't a very good performance, and his wicket was even funnier.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors showed an incredible batting performance in the second innings and chased down a huge target of 169 runs in the last ball. The entire credit goes to Shai Hope and Romario Shephard for sticking around and playing some good cricket to attain the 1st victory of the season. On the other hand, the Falcons aren't having a good time, as this was their 2nd consecutive loss. They'll have to buckle up, or else they will lose the race since the competition is quite high.

I will say hard work pays off: Gudakesh Motie

After taking three brilliant wickets in the first innings, Gudakesh Motie was given the Player of the Match award. He dismissed some really important wickets and, hence, deserved the award. While talking to the commentator, Motie disclosed his belief in hard work and how it pays off eventually. He was quite happy with the team's performance and hopes to continue the same performance in the future.

"I will say hard work pays off, I have been working hard over the years and I'm happy that I'm getting the success now. (On his batting role) Not a pinch-hitter. It's a team decision, I know I have the ability to strike it well. I’m just working hard at the moment and want to take it one game at a time. I was not nervous, I know the capabilities of my teammates. On the last ball, I was a bit nervous, Amir put it right in the slot and it got easier for us," said Gudakesh Motie.
