Meanwhile, the veteran batter has also shared a video of practising in the nets on his official Instagram handle. The video started making rounds on social media as soon as Pujara shared it on his official Instagram account.

Here’s a look at the net-practice video shared by Cheteshwar Pujara:

Notably, the Indian Test specialist has represented India in 103 Tests and has scored 7195 runs in 176 innings with an average of 43.60, hitting 19 centuries and 35 half-centuries to his name. While preparing for the upcoming County Championship in England, Pujara will be eyeing to seal his spot in the Indian squad for the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Australia later this year.

However, the last time Pujara made his Test appearance for India was in the WTC final against Australia, he couldn’t get going and failed to live up to his stature in both innings of the match and could score only 14 and 27 runs, respectively.

Most recently, he was in action for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy 2023; in the last 5 First Class matches, Pujara batted brilliantly and scored 2 centuries and one half-century to get his team on the right side of the match.

Pujara wasn't seen enough in action in red-ball cricket during the highest level of the game for the last couple of months as Indian team management has experimented the young bunch of red-ball cricketers. Recently, it was the five-match Test series against England where Pujara was not picked in the squad by the selectors.
