WATCH: Australia become second team to qualify for Super 8 after bashing Namibia by nine wickets in T20 World Cup 2024

The 24th game of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 was more of a one-sided match between Australia and Namibia, where Australia won by nine wickets. The game was always under Australia's control as they had to chase just 73 runs, and they did it fair and square. After this splendid performance, Australia now qualifies for the second stage, which is the Super 8. 

It was Australia's decision to bowl first after winning the toss, which was a great decision as they managed to bowl out Namibia for 72 runs. It was Adam Zampa's day as he claimed four wickets and swiped out Namibia's batting line-up. This was a one-sided match where none of the batters except Michael van Lingen and Gerhard Erasmus reached the 10-run mark. Josh Hazelwood and Marcus Stoinis both took two wickets each, along with Zampa's four wickets.

Australia chased the target of 73 runs under six overs. David Warner gave a quickfire start to the innings with 20 runs off eight balls. Apart from him, Travis Head scored 34 runs off 17 balls, along with Mitchell Marsh, who scored 18 runs off 9 balls. It was a great outing for the Aussies as they clinched victory and booked their spot in the Super 8.

After winning the match against Namibia, Adam Zampa was given the Player of the Match due to his brilliant performance. He claimed four wickets and conceded just 12 runs which was great. Hence, at the presentation, he talked about the backing he got from Mitchell Marsh which encouraged him to take more wickets. 

"Enjoying bowling, being encouraged to take wickets by the captain, just trying to do my thing mate. We are happy (to qualify), the first step in trying to take the trophy home, but a long way to go," said Adam Zampa at the post-match presentation.
