Gujarat Titans (GT) easily defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by ten wickets in their IPL 2025 game on Sunday night. This was Delhi’s final match of the season at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. While the fans were able to witness some amazing cricketing action on the field thanks to centuries from KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan.
On the sidelines, fans at the stadium witnessed unsavory moment where few spectators were involved in fisticuff. The incident was recorded by one fan who was watching the game as fists and kicks flew in. In the short video, fans could be seen trading blows while he game was on.
Axar Patel’s men now have their task cut out if they have to make it to the playoffs matches. Capitals have two games left in the IPL 2025 game and their penultimate match is against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday. The final game of the season is against Punjab Kings and DC have to win both encounters.
DC skipper credits Gujarat batting unit after huge loss
Sai Sudharsan’s 108 not out and Shubman Gill’s unbeaten 93 meant that GT won the game with ease and qualified for playoffs. Skipper Axar Patel saw red at the end of the game and slammed his bowling unit for a below par showing. The absence of Mitchell Starc was felt as Mustafizur Rahman failed to come good.
Speaking at the end of the game, Axar Patel said, “I thought it was a par score, the way we finished, KL was superb, we thought this was a good score. The bowlers tried hard, but we couldn't win today. The way we batted was a big positive, need to improve our fielding and the bowling in the powerplay.”
Batter Sai Sudharsan was given the player of the game for his unbeaten ton. The 23-year speaking at the post-match presentation said, “If feels great to make the team win. I missed out quite a few times at doing so this season and in the break, I was thinking about it and it paid off today.”
