Gujarat Titans (GT) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their penultimate game of IPL 2025 season. Arshad Khan came on to bowl the second over of the game and just as he was about to bowl the left-arm pacer slipped and fell. Team physio came out to check on the all-rounder as the game was halted till the bowler was back on his feet.

There was no further incident for the next four balls before the bowler fell for a second time. This time, Arshad Khan stayed sprawled on the pitch as Mitchell Marsh checked on the GT pacer. For the second time in the over Titans’ medical team ran out to check on Arshad Khan. Fortunately, the pacer was able to finish the over after conceding 14 runs. 

Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first and went in with the same side that beat Delhi Capitals by 10-wickets. Lucknow Super Giants made couple of changes to their side as Shahbaz Ahmed came in for his first game of the season. Veteran South African batter David Miller was rested for the encounter. 

Gujarat Titans eye top two spot in points table 

Win for Gujarat Titans on Thursday will confirm their place in the top two positions of IPL 2025. Titans skipper Shubman Gill speaking at the toss had said that he wanted to chase a score in a bid to gain momentum going into the knockout stages of the campaign. The 25-year-old also was complimentary of his partnership with Sai Sudharsan and said both want to bat with positive intentions. 

LSG skipper Rishabh Pant also stated that he would have loved to bowl first as well. The 27-year-old also said that his team was looking to play good cricket as they were just playing for pride. LSG were knocked out of IPL 2025 playoff races after their loss at home to Sunrisers Hyderabad by six wickets. 

After this game, Lucknow will head back home to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Ekana Stadium in the final league match of the season. Titans will Chennai Super Kings in their last match at home on Sunday in the afternoon encounter.
