Arjun Tendulkar has put up a remarkable performance in the domestic circuit as players across the country eye a spot in the Indian team as well as their respective state teams for the upcoming Ranji Trophy. Playing for Goa, the son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, stunned with a sensational nine-wicket haul.  

His incredible 9/87 in 26.3 overs across two innings powered Goa XI to an innings and 189-run win against Karnataka in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament, also known as the KSCA Invitational. Notably, the KSCA XI comprised mostly their U-19 and U-23 players.

Karnataka were bowled out for 103 in 36.5 overs in the first innings with Arjun doing heavy damage with figures of 5/41 in 13 overs. It was his first five-wicket haul for Goa and the all-rounder was seen celebrating aggressively before joining his team in celebration.

In reply, Goa piled up a massive 413 runs on the back of Abhinav Tejrana’s century (109) and Manthan Khutkar’s vital contribution of 69 runs. Trailing by 310 runs, Karnataka could manage only 121 runs in 30.4 overs in the second innings. Arjun once again shone with his left-arm pace as he returned with figures of 4/46 in 13.3 overs.

A quick look at Arjun Tendulkar's cricketing journey so far

Arjun Tendulkar spent most of his minor cricket in Mumbai but failed to earn a spot in the first team of the 42-time Ranji Trophy champions. The 24-year-old made his debut in the premier red-ball tournament for Goa in the 2022/23 season.

He played 13 first-class matches and took 21 wickets at an average of 45.19. In 49 competitive games across three formats at senior level, the southpaw has picked 68 wickets. Arjun is part of Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He donned the blue jersey four times in 2023 and once in 2024, taking three wickets and scoring 13 runs.
