In what seems to be a piece of delightful news for the ‘struggling’ Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the star batter Suryakumar Yadav finally returned to the camp after getting declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to take part in the ongoing edition of the tournament.
Notably, the World No. 1 T20I batter was on a long hiatus from competitive cricket due to ankle surgery, which he sustained a couple of months ago. He underwent an ankle surgery followed by a rehabilitation process at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians shared a special video while announcing the return of Suryakumar Yadav to the MI camp for the remainder of the IPL 2024.
“Jab Hotel mein aate hi Bollywood Sky met Cricket Surya,” reads the caption of the Instagram video shared on the official account of Mumbai Indians in collaboration with the star cricketer. The video also started making rounds on social media as soon as it was shared by MI from their official Instagram handle.
Here’s the video of MI announcing the return of Suryakumar Yadav:
Speaking of the current performance of the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024, they are going through a very dismal run of form with three consecutive defeats in the 3 matches of the tournament. The team is playing under the captaincy of newly appointed skipper Hardik Pandya.
On the other hand, the new MI skipper Hardik Pandya has also been facing a huge backlash from the MI fans, especially the fans of the former MI skipper and the modern-day batting great, Rohit Sharma.
In the first three matches so far, Hardik has been subjected to a massive booing by the crowd present there in the stadium; it looked quite strange and unbelievable when fans booed Hardik at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and MI’s home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
