Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswalโs return to cricket during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game against ended early on Sunday. The Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener scored just one run before he was sent back to the hut. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) seamer Simarjeet Singh got the wicket of Jaiswal caught well by Abhinav Manohar.ย
Singh bowled a wide delivery that Jaiswal tried to cut but Manohar, who was fielding at point, jumped up and took a splendid catch. The rest of the SRH players ran to the fielder after the catch was completed, with Jaiswal heading back to the hut. In the same over, skipper Riyan Parag was out for four runs as he tried to pull Singh only to be caught by Pat Cummins.ย

Earlier in the day, SRH were put into bat first and scored a massive 286 runs on the board. Ishan Kishan was not out on 106 off just 47 balls with 11 fours and six huge sixes. The left-handed batter, making his debut for SRH, scored his tonne off just 45 balls. Travis Head was the next best batter with 67 off 31 balls, while Jofra Archer went for 76 runs from his four overs.ย
Sanju Samson wages lone battle with the batย
Mohammed Shami bowled the first over for SRH and the veteran Indian seamer was smashed for 16 runs. Sanju Samson, playing as a batter, hit one six and two boundaries to give his side a great start to the chase. Simarjeet Singh was hit for nine runs from his opening over as he got two wickets for his side.ย
Nitish Rana then came to the wicket and began by hitting Shami for two boundaries in the third over. Samson kept going as he went after Simarjeet Singh hitting him for 15 runs in the fourth over of the inning.ย Rana was out for 11 when he tried to slog Shami, only to give Cummins his second catch of the game.ย
Centurion Ishan Kishan expressed his joy while speaking to the host broadcasters at the end of SRH's innings.
Ishan Kishan said, โFeels good; it was coming for a while. Wanted to get this last season but happy to get that first hundred. The team has put their faith in me, and I want to do my best for them. The captain has given us all a lot of freedom and confidence; hats off to the management.โย
