Star India pacer Mohammed Siraj is set to be in action for his new franchise Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025). The franchise roped in for the whopping amount of INR 12.50 crores in the IPL 2025 mega-auction for the 18th edition of the tournament.
Before getting acquired by GT, Siraj was an important part of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for a long period of 6 six years from IPL 2018 to IPL 2024. Initially, he had started his IPL career for his hometown franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad. During his long stint with RCB, Siraj shared a special and heartfelt bond with the former RCB skipper Virat Kohli.
“He has backed me in my bad times” – Mohammed Siraj on Virat Kohli
Meanwhile, Siraj also spoke about Virat Kohli’s role in his career; he also explained how Kohli helped him deliver his best by backing him in the tough times.
“To be honest, Virat Kohli has a huge hand in my career. He has backed me in my bad times – 2018 and 2019 – he supported me, he even retained me, and after that, my performance and graph went up. He has been very supportive. It has been very emotional for me to leave RCB. Let's see what happens when I come against RCB. The match is on April 2,” said Siraj to ANI while recalling his journey with RCB under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
Furthermore, the 31-year-old also spoke about his preparations with the Gujarat Titans, whom he will be representing in the upcoming IPL 2025. Siraj will be playing for G under the captaincy of star India opener Shubman Gill.
“My training is going very well with all the pacers in my team, and our bowling unit knows how to plan and execute. I am feeling very pleasant training with them all, teammates, and especially being here in Gujarat Titans,” he said.
Gujarat Titans will kickstart their IPL 2025 journey with their campaign opener against Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings on Tuesday, March 25, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
