India A bowlers had the India D batters tottering in the first session of play before lunch. Sanju Samson who was playing his first game of Duleep Trophy 2024 was out for just 5 runs. The 29-year-old was given a massive ovation as he came out to bat at the fall of Shreyas Iyer.

The batter began well as he scored a boundary past the point region to get off the mark. Aaqib Khan then bowled a short ball to Samson as the batter went for a pull. Prasidh Krishna took a good catch as Samson couldn’t time the ball well and was out for just 5.

India A were bowled out for 290 in their first innings after ending the previous day 8 wickets down. Shams Mulani and Aaqib Khan fell to Harshit Rana as the Delhi pacer ended with 4 wickets.

The on field umpire initially didn’t give the batter out but India A skipper Mayank Agarwal opted for a review. The third umpire saw a nick and the batter was sent on his way back to the hut.

After the fall of Sanju Samson, it was the turn of Devdutt Padikkal and Ricky Bhui to stitch a partnership. The two batters went into lunch with the score reading 86/4 as Padikkal was not out on 40 and Bhui batting on 22.
