The high-voltage India vs Pakistan game seems to be in danger as an ISIS-linked outfit threatened to attack during the marquee event on June 9 at the Nassau County Cricket International Stadium, New York. Hence, from June 3 to 12, all the matches held in New York will be under strict security by the US government. As per a BBC report, the government has planned to plant snipers along with SWAT teams and police in plain clothes all around the stadium for extra protection.

"The safety and security of everyone at the event is our number one priority and we have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place. We work closely with authorities in our host countries and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event," the ICC was quoted as saying to BBC Sport.

Apart from this, several police officers have been appointed to guard the drop-in pitches ahead of the games in New York. Moreover, the security forces include Nassau’s police force, the New York Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the US Department Of Homeland Security, and other agencies for the T20 World Cup 2024.
