In what seems to be a big blow for the Pakistan cricket team and the Pakistan cricket fans, the star opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the entire remainder of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Fakhar sustained an injury in the tournament opener against New Zealand in Karachi while fielding in the first innings.

He was taken off the field after sustaining the injury but later returned to the field. He was also seen limping and struggling to give his best on the field. He also struggled while batting for his side in the second innings.

In the same line of events, Fakhar Zaman came up with an emotional post on his official X handle (formerly Twitter). In the recently shared, the blistering Southpaw expressed his pain and agony of missing out on the major ICC tournament for Pakistan due to an injury.

“Representing Pakistan on the biggest stage is an honour and dream of every cricketer in this country. I have been privileged enough to represent Pakistan multiple times with pride. Unfortunately, I’m now out of ICC Champions Trophy 2025 but surely Allah is the best planner,” wrote Fakhar in his X post.

“Grateful for the opportunity. I will be backing our boys in green from home. This is only just the beginning, the comeback will be stronger than the setback. Pakistan Zindabad,” he added later.

Now, the injured and ruled-out Fakhar Zaman has been replaced by the left-hand batter Imam-ul-Haq. The 29-year-old was named as Fakhar Zaman’s replacement after the Event Technical Committee of the International Cricket Council (ICC) approved it.
Imam-ul-Haq will join the Pakistan squad ahead of their clash against the arch-rivals India on February 23, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
