Cricket world was buzzing with the 2025 Champions Trophy, which kicked off on Wednesday. New Zealand won the game by 60 runs against Pakistan to give the hosts huge worry going into their game against India on Sunday. The Men in Blue have kicked off their campaign with the game against Bangladesh in Dubai.

Meanwhile, there are massive injury concerns for Pakistan with Fakhar Zaman getting injured. The 34-year-old had hurt himself in the field in the early part of the game against New Zealand on Wednesday. Pakistan have named their replacement for Fakhar who seems to be out of the tournament.

Pakistan recall star left-hander as Fakhar Zaman's replacement in Champions Trophy 2025

After the injury to Fakhar Zaman on Wednesday, Pakistan have announced Imam-Ul-Haq as the replacement. It is a huge blow for Pakistan considering that Fakhar Zaman was one of the best batters who was in good form. Imam Ul Haq is expected to open the batting with Babar Azam against India on Sunday.

Bangladeshi star Mehidy Hasan Miraz praised ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Miraz was in conversation with Bumrah’s wife Sanjana Ganesan where he said “Yes, he is very different, but he is not coming here”. Bumrah was ruled out of the tournament after injuring himself during the Sydney Test.

Will Young and Tom Latham centuries help New Zealand beat Pakistan by 60 runs in opening match of Champions Trophy

New Zealand kicked off their Champions Trophy 2025 campaign with 60 run win over Pakistan. Will Young and Tom Latham scored centuries while Glenn Phillips scored 61 to help the Kiwis post 320 on the board. Hosts and defending champions Pakistan were all out for 260 with Khushdil Shah scoring 69 and Babar Azam scoring 64.

Indian batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar is set to make his return to the field in the upcoming International Masters League. The 51-year-old will play for India masters against Sri Lanka masters in the first match at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Tendulkar was given a rousing reception as he came in for the captain’s day ahead of the event.

Mohammed Shami made his return to ICC format for India and made an immediate impact. The 34-year-old took just six balls to help India get their first wicket of the match to dismiss Bangladesh opener Soumya Sarkar for a duck. India were asked to bowl first after Najmul Shanto won the toss at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
