There have been many legends of Indian cricket who have given us some of the most memorable moments in the game. One of the players who was part of some of the most memorable moments in the World of cricket is none other than Mohinder Amarnath who was one of the best Indian all rounders and who played a major role in making us the World champions back in 1983.
Mohinder Amarnath will be turning 74 today and this is the moment where we will keep him in memory for being involved in one of greatest moments which Indian cricket remembers even today. Amarnath was the vice captain and was one of the key performers for Indian cricket who was the man of the match in the finals where he scored an important 25 runs and took 3 wickets to bowl out the West Indies and ensure India were the World champions for the first time after beating the mighty Carribbean side.
Mohinder Amarnath and his criticism of Indian selectors
There is no doubt that Amarnath is one of the most important figures in Indian cricket, but there was a time where the former India captain was continously dropped from the team despite the legacy he has built. Amarnath in an interview had also opened up on the matter of him being dropped and went onto cricticise the BCCI selectors. The former star all rounder had called the selectors a " bunch of Jokers". These words did get Amarnath into a little of trouble ,but there were also some ugly stories which went out in the public with the Indian board selectors taking the runt of it.
This was one of the biggest controversies in Indian cricket while some were not happy with the comment from Amarnath there were still some people who respected him for taking a stand against the selectors. Overall these are some of the stories of Indian cricket which created a lot of havoc and there was a mixed response from the media regarding this issue.
