The wait for a Test win at home is finally over for Pakistan as they beat England in Multan by 152 runs. Veteran left-arm spinner Noman Ali picked 8/46 in the 2nd innings as the home team won the game just before lunch on day four. It was also the best Test figure for Noman Ali as he ended the game with figures of 11/147 with the ball.

Noman Ali and Sajid Khan were the only two bowlers employed by Shan Masood. The duo combined well to take all ten wickets to fall as England were bowled out for 144. The ploy to play on the same used pitch from the opening game worked out in the home team’s favor. With this win, the series is now locked at 1-1 with one game left.

It was also a memorable game for Kamran Ghulam who made his Test debut. The 29-year-old replaced Babar Azam and scored a ton in his debut innings. Sajid Khan was the hero with the ball in the 1st innings as he picked 7/111 from his 26.2 overs. The off-spinner ended the game with cumulative figures of 9/204 in helpful conditions.

Ben Stokes and his side came to Multan on the 4th day still needing 261 runs for a win. The visitors had lost their openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett to end the 3rd day’s play at 36/2. It was up to Root and Pope to guide the team through and look for a win to wrap up the series.

England wanted to show aggression right from the start but lost wickets in a heap. Ollie Pope was the first man to be dismissed for 22 as he was caught and bowled by Sajid Khan. Joe Root, Jamie Smith, and Ben Stokes lost their wickets in search of quick runs as the end became nigh for England.

Noman Ali then ran through the rest of the batting unit to pick his career-best figures in test cricket. Skipper Ben Stokes was the best batter for the visitors as he scored 37 while Brydon Carse struck 3 sixes during his 27 of 32 balls. Abdullah Shafique took the catches of Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir to signal a huge win for the home team.
